I loved โBut if your spiritual ear is attentive you should catch those forest voices that fall softer than silence and speak of peace and purity, truth and beauty.โ And I also loved the fairy quote that you enjoyed as well! Wishing you many โenchantmentsโ today, Tania! ๐โจ
This is such a treat, Tania. Itโs a shortcut to the best parts at a time when I cannot find the time to pick up a book, e or otherwise. Each week I add a couple words back into my language...Azure this time, for sure. Thank you! J
His descriptions are beautiful and so visual; it was hard to pick favorites, but you selected great ones! I love that one resonated with your own artwork.
How the book starts: "Humanity has always turned to nature for relief from toil and strife. This was true of the old world; it is much more true of the new, especially in recent years. There is a growing interest in wild things and wild places."
Not much has changed, I believe that is what some (maybe less?) of us seek even now, more than a hundred years later. I lived for 4.5 years in Iowa, loved my time there very much โฅ
Thank you, Cheryl. I love that you actually clicked through to find your own quote. That opening piece says it all, doesn't it? That's cool that you lived in Iowa! His winter descriptions are so vivid.

Oh, this makes me so happy to read, Janice! Thank you. May you soon be back in azure waters ๐
YES! ...and other wild words....
-"finely reticulated shadows of the graceful twigs"
I suppose because it echoes in some of my paintings
I also loved - "lavender haze hangs softly on the forest-fringed horizon" and "laughter of the sunbeam fairiesโ is delightful.

Any one of your notes could be a morning writing prompt.
Oh, I like the idea of using them as writing prompts!
